Great assortment of baked goods. I extremely friendly and prompt service. Highly recommend the pan fried donut with sugar and cinnamon, I don’t think you will find these outside of Ithaca.

Excellent bakery and pastry shop, you should get their signature bread, the Agio Oritico ("the Sacred Mountain").

Truly delicious, fresh pastry! We tried all pies during our holiday (best to-go food for the days spent on a boat) and all of them were really fresh and super tasty! Definitely best bakery in Vathi! All the others don’t even come close to this level!

Got a few cakes from this bakery. Orange cake, walnut cake and baklava all really good. Big slices well priced. Also have some sourbread which was very good.

Our favorite bakery during our Greece sailing trip (and we tried A LOT). Everything was fresh with lots of options. Don’t miss the Bougatsa (custard), cheese, and Greek donut . Make sure to go early as they sell out fast

I have lived in the US for the past 50 years and am visiting the island of Ithaca. In anticipation of enjoying its natural beauty and unparalleled beaches, I was looking for traditionally baked goods like breads, spanakopitas, tiropitas, koulourakia, and many other Greek delicacies.
I found that and much more at the “Amarantos Traditional Bakery” in Vathi! For in addition to the traditional delicious baking, I found in Dina, Yiota, Evgenia, the traditional Greek hospitality “filoxenia” in their smiles and savvy advise. Indeed a daily visit to the bakery was one of the highlights of my stay, so much so that I extended my visit to the island from one week to two months!
My husband approved as he, in addition to eating his favorite “fried bread with sugar and cinnamon”

The best bakery in the bay. High quality products, from incredible sourdough bread to the sweets and the high quality butter that you can smell instantly when you enter the place. Thank you for still providing a truly authentic local experience.

I do love the bread, most of the time, I take the dark one. And what is the best for me, are the different pies. They change nearly every week and they taste perfekt. And the Team is very friendly and so polite, even when there is a lot of work and they have many things to do.😍

You should try the sourdough bread, both the white and the whole grain. On top of that the stuff is really helpful and friendly.
